for the whole boston selection thing,

during PSE had to go library to do a writeup.
the question was : explain one of your strengths and one of your weaknesses

just the same thing they asked me during the interview for me to get my post for scouts.
and the same thing my mum prepared with me b4... rofl

so my strength was initiative (a MAJOR important thing in scouts)
and yea OBS as well.... =,=
well that's one thing scouts has done for me. check one up for scouts. xP

and my weakness was spendin too much time on the com. oO lols
well that's what my mum told me i shld answer.... better than saying i can't lead for nuts

and i tweaked it so that although i spend a lot of time on com, i still keep up with my studies. then why it is bad i spend so much time on com is cos i have less time to pursue my interests (guitar, dancing) than i would like.

okay, so after melacca trip?
what has happened since then.

okay so the fri of the sep hols
was UBER bored at home
and nth to do
so i just thought i'd go shopping (yea, i know. WTF???)
at first was going to hougang mall.
then realised, compass pt is waay better.
plus got arcade

alrite so i got thr, bought an extension wire to connect my phone to my sound system in my room xD
then walked arnd...
did SOME shopping
i srsly do cannot do shopping
it just don't fit me.
i dun have the patience to srsly try everything and look at everything in the store.
i get nervous when the sales assistants go near and "offer assistance"

in any case i managed to buy some cool Ts, and a cool shirt.

so then popped by the arcade (which to be honest was like the reason i went thr in the first place xD)
some older guys were freaking hogging initial D
and the worst thing is, they SUCK at it...
one indian guy (no racism intended) didn't brake at ALL
and just kept ramming into the walls
the other two weren't pros either
they played the same thing for like 1 hour?

in their defense initial D 5 kinda sux
the drifting is totally different from 4, as in you can't drift properly without slowing down a hell lot

idiot maintenance didn't drill the friggin hole after like 2 weeks
so we just shifted the new cupboards and leaned the potrait on it against the wall
(NOT an easy task mind you)

so then saturday (a.k.a yest)
morn had tuition
um then afternoon played guitar a bit
(quite okay...i wanna learn Your Guardian Angel-The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus on guitar, but the tabs vivek sent me are just freaking HARD and impossible)

Teacher's Day/ Scouts S3 Leadership Retreat

erm.

so teacher's day was like a week ago. (more than that)
mm.
quite fun.
before that was mass.
then the dumb workout thing... (thriller)
then ivan and greg and psp did their flashmob.
quite good i guess

should've tried to make it.
but then one of their rehearsals was on fri, had training.
so, didn't think to go...

anyway,
after that went back to class.
before we started the party,
had to give out results =,=
that is totally stupid...
i mean come on lah,
we wanna enjoy the party rite?
sheesh.
i didn't really bother cos i got my results on saturday...
okay...
so then everyone was chionging the food.
wana perform liaos they still at the food...

my performance kinda screwed lah....
lost timing and got lost a few times...
but the bboying part was okay.

tio was the backup. damn funny cos he only sing a few things

actually it's not that difficult now.

then bus to some old folk's home.
didn't really know what to do...

dinner was at some hawker center/food court (whatever you call it in malaysia)
quite nice chicken rice.
the ice blended was damn nice too.
satay took forever to come =,=

um then,
met at the "big balls"
i did a turtle on one of them.
took of one hand for just a split second.
and the SFI guy caught it on camera.

um then night hike..
went to this cool water fountain.
damn cool.

went in pairs
(although they tried to make us go alone)
in the end it was no big deal.
just a short trip.
then in the church, (some abandoned building with open roof)

they told us to blindfold ourselves.
then i sat in one place, while they made scary noises...
actually i wasn't that scared (although seriously it sounded damn scary)
cos i knew it was just them.
some times can hear them laughing or discussing also.

after that it was over....

2nd day,
woke up in SFI
mass in the morning,
then went waterfall trip! xD

it was ddaaammnnn fun
it was more like this river that had like steps where the water is damn fast,
not really a waterfall.
but still damn cool.
feet DAMN pain from all the sharp rocks and stuff.
slipped a few times and hit my shin.
ouch. not very nice i can tell you

did a few freezes.

went shopping after dinner.
dinner me and isaac went macs.

there was a freakin mega mall next to SFI so damn easy to go shopping.

abt what scouting is, and what lasallian is.
erm yea.
played murderer also.

then next day after attending SFI's assembly, made our way to the 5star hotel just next door.

went to the seminar room.
then started with seminar.

played a few games also, some energizers.

the knots activity was damn dumb cos we kept going round in circles then end up the same.
but in the end we were the only group able to do it properly and consecutively.

kinda forgot what else happened that day...
mostly just seminar.
we got a short time to go shopping again after lunch(or was it dinner i forgot liao)

went with isaac again
bought a jacket from this shop that like sells Metal stuff...

looked damn hardcore some of the jackets. (biker style)
i bought a less hardcore one,
cos hardcore dosen't really suit me.
then cos the shop was right next to the arcade,
we spent like 10RM
then played a few random games....
played intial D again...
took a vid of one round.

last minute overtake

then went back for more seminar
late at nite was the clear the air session,
but changed to affirmation session instead.

mm...
then night time damn shuang sia.
5 star room. woots

next day overslept.
wake up call was at 6.30...
nathan woke me up at 7.20 and was like, i think we're late.

so then just quickly wash up then chiong downstairs for breakfast (buffet, just like lunch and breakfast the previous day)

bit more seminar session,
santhosh and the "sharp arrowhead" gave presentation abt our level,
decided a few special posts

then bus back to singapore...
played karl's PSP half the way there.
addicted to DJ Max sia,
close my eyes also can see notes coming down =P

OBS

ohkayes...
so i've been slackin off the blog agn.
been like 5 days since OBS ended.
mmm

so, my last post was abt DYD..
(damn fun xD)
then last sunday was mostly OBS shopping.
goin to random places.
or did i alrdy mention that?
lol wadever.

so anyway
FIRST DAY OBS:
waiting arnd at the place in punggol for first part while they settled some admin/logistic matters.

that was damn sian

so in my group didn't really know anyone, besides ppl from my class
(julian jing heng nhien (if that's how you spell it))

oh wells?

then finally took the boat/ferry/ whatever over to pulau ubin
i wasn't all that looking forward to OBS,
cos i knew it wasn't gonna be easy,
and it was gonna be super tough
although of course there was the fact that i'm used to those kinda shit (thanks to scouts)

mm...
so then there was reshuffling of the groups and zhen hong ended up in my group (so another familiar face)
our "watch" as they call it was called hillary.
o.o
after the edmund guy who climbed mt everest first.
rofl, there was a watch called "livingston" or livingstone. i dno which is the actual spelling
so then our instructor was elton
he gave us a quick intro to OBS and briefing sort of
he seemed like quite a cool guy

so then our first day started. (officially)
lots of stuff to learn, like how to pitch a tent, how to pack a backpack.
(stuff i've been familiar with)
the only activity we had that day was belaying practice.
first night was irritating.
while we were trying to get everyone together after cooking dinners in the outdoors,
plus washing all the mess tins and pot (RAWR this eff-ing pot)
then cldn't find them.
our deadline was running out...

in the end found that kevin richard and marcus went to shower...
=,=!!
i was like, WTF.........

but at least they tried to make up for it by volunteering to wash the pot
there was still soot left in it though (not that they can really be blamed... the pot is SCREWED up)
so then we had to use sand/soil (yes...DIRT) to scrape/rub off the soot.

DAMN difficult to get off

so...i volunteered to be IC that night
(okay, so the thing is, elton didn't assign ICs for each day, or even food ICs or store ICs like all the other watches.)

SECOND DAY OBS:
so then next day (we slept in dome shape tent luckily)
woke up to rain...
then stoned a bit cos dunno whether shld go out and unpitch or not.
so we kena late lorh...
(but they like heck care if your late or not sia...totally unlike scouts)
1.2 km trek to next camp
didn't seem like much compared to hikes.
but actually was tired...shoulders already achin
did rock climbing, which was damn fun xD
also first time i tried before.... (sigh... P5 camp)

then basic kayaking "course" or rather instructions,
capsize and rescue,
how to paddle
stuff like that...

people screwed up the instructions lorh,
then instructors shouted...
zzz wtf lah...
after that still got PT.... =,=
damn bloody tiring

and the best thing?
i was STILL IC......
dinner was catered..... so....yea

(but supper was screwed lah....me and nicholas spent half an hour looking for elton...=,=)
by this time ppl were starting to cooperate

THIRD DAY OBS:
wed....abt halfway thru... wooots?
kayaking (sea expedition) for most day
annoyin when ppl got in our way and we langah them.
me and jing heng partnered...
managed to keep up with the front most of the time.
sea lunch was quite cool,
and good cos i was bloody hungry

reached our destination (a whoping 15km away)
then beached and put the kayaks away.
started to rain, then pour
and we hadn't even pitched our tents...!!
this was DAMN pissing....

julian was like missing suddenly
(my tent group was jing heng, lucian, julian)
and we were missing some stuff (pegs or smth like that, or smth)
and no one was willing to help us sia...
doing their own tents first....
i was like
f***??
we can't even get started DAMN...

haiz...
but in the end ours was up, and the unlucky ones who had the A-frame tent,
hard time, cos theirs needed pegs, and the ground was ROCK hard
again, i was the one who went to look for instructors...
was getting sick of it,
but i kinda guessed if i didn't do it no one would...then we'd be screwed
i'd figured by then that i'd end up being IC all five days....

RAIN FREAKING SUX...

FOURTH DAY OBS:
woke up... it was raining again....
sheesh.... D=
EVERYTHING, clothes,shoes,bags, was wet
even the tent wasn't waterproof
then everyone was more concerned abt their own packing and having breakfast than helping unpitch.
when time to pack up and leave, everyone was damn slow...
was damn irritated.
plus my voice was gone from shouting the past few days.

so then, Land expedition (trekking)
OUch....
shoulders were freaking pain shit.

i tried to help carry the tent and share the load.
we climbed to the highest point in ubin,
then made our way to chek jawa.
finally got to rest.....ouuucchhhhhhiiess
had lunch...

then had to set off again...
groan

ended up in the middle of a thunderstorm though,
so took shelter in some random...uh, shelter... lol
talk cock with wen jun, marcus, richard, nicholas
at least got to rest...
then had to continue....
sadly, i wasn't all that enthu to help carry the tents anymore

was really just damn tired...
i know everyone else was too...
so i felt quite guilty...
in the end helped carry for a while also lorh

FINALLY reached the place =D
then we had to wash and pack up the equipments...
could've waited till last day, but decided to do everythin on the fourth day
LOVE the instructors for that... xD
so we finished...

then dinner was a celebration!!! =D
yea!!!
we did some random sketch (courtesy of julian's screwed up imagination)
the other group did some random dance...
lol the sketch was damn funny when we planned it....

on the Final Day:

Elton: "your target is Mr. Jillary"
Murali: "yay!"

so then they fight.
Murali appears to be losing.
just then, he spots a puddle of water.
*jumps in puddle of water*
Mr. Jillary is stunned...
Murali shouts as he deals the final blow: "Die, you Kway Tiao!"
and shouts "yay!"

Murali reports back to Elton.
Elton stones.
Murali: "eh, clap lah"
*both clap*

so then a lot more bullcrap
then story end...
rofl...
it's mostly a lot of inside jokes, and poking fun at the instructors.

cos we clear out our store and pack up everythin liaos.
